As mentioned earlier in the news on this website. This week I am undertaking the copyright law unit in my Graduate Diploma of Intellectual Property course at the University of Melbourne.
Had a presentation from Mr. Paul Muller the CEO of the Australian Screen Association. Was an interesting talk about the industries position on copyright law in Australia and piracy and the effect that the current laws and piracy has on the industry.
After listening to this session, I feel I have a clearer understanding of the industry perspective on the matter. I can see in the near future that organisations such as the Australian Screen Association and others will now further lobby the government for more change in this space.
